The engineering and architecture consultancy Ove Arup & Partners S.A. Commissioned Vectio to conduct this assessment, the objective of which was to exactly find out the distribution of vehicle flows in the vicinity of the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas.
The area studied is located in the district of Salamanca, specifically in the vicinity of the M-30 and is delimited by the streets Alcalá, Alejandro González and Almería.
To carry out this assessment, a ATC survey campaign was conducted consisting of:
- Collection of three permanent traffic counts with pneumatic technology and radar technology during a full work week.
- The installation of with six artificial vision cameras in six determined junctions, in order to exactly find out the origin and destination of the traffic in the area studied. This has allowed us to obtain six swept path matrices during the morning and afternoon rush hours, as well as an overall matrix of the area.
